A striking mid-century art glass vase in deep cobalt blue with a sculptural flattened bottle form. The body features a circular push-in panel surrounded by softly rounded square sides, giving the piece a bold architectural presence.
The wide neck rises into a hand-worked crimped rim with four subtle points, a detail commonly seen in American studio glass of the 1960s and 1970s. The glass shows beautiful depth of color and natural variation from the blowing process.
This piece is reminiscent of designs produced by Blenko during the mid-century modern period and makes a dramatic decorative object even when displayed without flowers.
